What We Believe

Our Beliefs

At Beech Grove United Methodist Church, our faith is rooted in the historic Christian tradition and shaped by the teachings of John Wesley. We believe God’s love and grace are freely offered to all people, and that faith is meant to be lived out through worship, service, and love for our neighbors. Scripture guides our life together, helping us grow in faith and understanding as we seek to follow Jesus Christ.

As United Methodists, we value a thoughtful and balanced approach to faith—one that brings together Scripture, tradition, reason, and personal experience. We believe the church is called not only to nurture believers but also to serve the world, working for justice, mercy, and compassion in the name of Christ.

Our Core Beliefs Include

    • One God in Three Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

    • Jesus Christ as the Son of God, whose life, death, and resurrection bring salvation and new life

    • The Bible as the primary authority for faith and practice

    • God’s Grace as a gift freely given, guiding us before, during, and throughout our lives

    • Baptism and Holy Communion as sacred means of grace that nurture our faith

    • The Church as a community called to worship God, make disciples, and serve the world

    • The Worth of Every Person, created in God’s image and loved by God

We believe faith is a journey meant to be shared, not walked alone. Wherever you are in your faith, you are welcome to explore, learn, and grow with us.
